Eat mor chikin

So about a week ago, Emmet noticed that Carlyle was finished with her dinner, so he crawled on over, grabbed a chicken nugget with one hand and proceeded to eat it all. I guess this means we are ready to try meat now... ha! So today I gave him a chicken strip to see how he'd do and he just went for it and ate the whole thing! And as you can see, he was thrilled about it:

I think he feels like a big boy, especially now that he has four teeth. Let's hope this continues! Also, this is a picture from another day when he was in his high chair and it is just too cute not to share :)

K-I-S-S-I-N-G

So Emmet has learned how to give kisses, which is super sweet. I guess he grew tired of kissing Mommy and Daddy, so he decided to try out his skillz on a girl.

This is Natalie. She is 7 months. She and Emmet are buds. I'm just glad the kiss was on the cheek for now... plenty of time for real kissing when he's older, say 25?

Mommy is just going to soak up all the slobbery kisses she can for now :)

Sweet Boy

Emmet is 10 months, almost 11 now - I can hardly believe it! Everyone warns you about this, how fast they grow, but it still caught me off guard. I went to visit him at daycare today (and he just got two top teeth) and I sat there in amazement at the small child in front of me. Someone must have come into daycare and swapped out my baby for a toddler that looks a lot like him. I am so excited about the little person he is becoming, though. He gives sweet kisses, laughs all the time and seems to really have a sense of humor. You can literally see him studying and learning about the world around him; he takes it all in and his little mind is always processing. And I am still amazed every single day at how cute he is. Now, I know that's not the most important quality to have, but he is seriously cute. My favorite thing right now is that he tilts his head really fast to one side to look at me or get my attention. I'm not sure why he does it, but it is so funny! I can't believe that I ever even existed without this little guy. Mommy loves you, Emmet!

Funny Guy

Emmet is doing so many fun things now! I don't have much on video, but I am trying to catch it all!

  • Waves at people! He really just puts his hand in the air (almost like a German heil), but he loves that we clap when he does it.
  • Gives High Fives
  • Throws things he doesn't want to play with behind his head
  • There is a security system panel in the hallway and Emmet loves to push the buttons. Every time he would do it, Chad would say, "Beep, bop, boop. The house is secure." So now when Emmet pushes the buttons he says, "Bap, bap bap."
  • Plays Peek-a-boo! If we say, "Where's Emmet?" he will either pull a blanket up to cover his face or put both of his hands on top of his head. When he pulls it down we say "Peek-a-boo" and he just laughs and laughs.

  • His favorite activity is to chase the roomba vacuum. He even know how to turn it on, so we had to hide its docking station.

  • He loves his rubber ducky the best out of all of his toys.
  • Can climb up one step. He hasn't figured out how to get back down, though.
  • Will crawl away and squeal when we say, "I'm gonna get you!" Then he laughs when we tickle him.
