The Nursery

Lyla's nursery is almost done, but not quite.
But I wanted to post some of my favorite parts of her room so far!
Her room is purple and gray (shocking that I chose purple, I know)

Changing table with baskets, purple dress paintings by Lali that hung in Carlyle's nursery, and sweet bows!

Antique trunk that I found, which holds her dresses, shoes, books and a few toys!

All of Lyla's sweet dresses and day gowns!
These are just her fancy clothes... she needs some parties to go to!

Hats and lots of bonnets!

Pottery by Nathalie - made for Emmet
Blanket and nursing cover by Dodi
and y'all this is only the smallest half of her shoes... HALF!

The lace mobile I made!

More sweet pink clothes!

Her handmade stocking from Dodi!
Which is also her first possession with her name on it!

We left a full sized bed in her room because it was our guest room, so we still have a place for people to sleep. Plus I'm sure I'll be spending some nights in there.
I love her bedding! It's not a great picture of it, but here's the link:

Handmade dresses and bonnets by Zuzu (and Amy)!

Handmade shoes by Zuzu that were Carlyle's -
not to mention other day gowns and dresses by Zuzu, some that were made for baby Lali!

Her antique couch against her purple wall (phone pic, colors not great).

And her first monogrammed outfit that matches brother and cousins!

Once our crib comes in and I finalize all the wall decor, I'll post some final pictures! This has been the most fun for me and I absolutely love how her nursery is turning out!

And I am so thankful that she has such talented and creative women in her life -
a big thanks to Dodi, Zuzu and Lali!

LKB

We have decided to name our sweet girl
Lyla Kennedy Barnes

It was a long process to finding the right girl name - but we are so happy with our choice!
I first thought "lilah" would make a beautiful name when taking Hebrew in college - lilah means night.
And Kennedy is my dad's middle name (Robert Kennedy Dorman) and my grandmother's maiden name (Luan Ruth Kennedy Dorman). I love that Lyla will share a middle name with her Bob-O!
And she almost shares initials with Lali - who was LEB until she became a Garrity!

We aren't really posting her name on facebook or other social media until she's, but I figured the people who read this probably already know it :)

A Tea for Baby Girl

Aunt Allison put together a lovely little shower for Baby Girl in February at the Arboretum. It was a beautiful day with family and sweet gifts - just what I wanted!

She got some of the sweetest outfits we've ever seen, her beautiful stocking from Dodi, soft sweet pink and purple blankets, and some necessities! I am having so much fun with this girl stuff!

Tabatha and Emily enjoying the spread!

Dodi and Memaw

Zuzu, Carlyle, Aunt Amy and Aunt Lali!

The Grandmas!

Carlyle, who is so excited about her baby cousin (her pseudo baby sister), it's the cutest thing!

Dorman/Autrey

And a belly pic, which would have been Week 32

We are so grateful to live close to most of our family - thank you all for the love you have for us, Emmet and Baby Girl!

January Breckenridge Trip!

An overdue post about our fun trip with Zuzu and Uncle Alex to Breckenridge back in January!

All decked out in our snow gear!

Throwing snowballs with Zuzu!

Walking in snow clothes is hard work - rest where you can!

Hot chocolate for the weary...

Emmet loved the snow, he couldn't get enough! He tried to make snowballs from every pile of snow we saw

In town

Making new friends

Jacuzzi tub + bubbles = epic bathtimes!

There was a children's museum next door!

Visiting the ice castle was really cool (and really cold)!

Dada and Uncle Alex spent three of the days out on the mountain!
We rode the gondola and met Dada for lunch one day at Peak 8. It was the highest elevation that Emmet went to and we could tell it affected him, see Exhibit 1:

Taking in the scenery

A cold walk to dinner!

Sledding fun!

Zuzu's turn!

Mama was there too and even went for a little (slow) ride! I went sledding when it iced while 5 months pregnant with Emmet, so why not this time?

Chad and I are on our date night out!

Helping Uncle Alex get ready to head out!

 More snowballs with Dada!

And thankful for some indoor entertainment as well :)
Diego on the Kindle

And penguin bowling from our Kiwi Crate from the Garritys!

It was a fun trip - Emmet and I had never been to Breck during winter, so it was so neat to see all the snow. It also made us all thankful we don't live in it (minus Alex) and have to dress up the littles in all that gear everyday!

Thanks for a great trip, Zuzu!
