Tyler, Tx

My Mom has a friend with a lovely condo at the Cascades Golf Course in Tyler, Tx - so the Dorman family packed up and went out for the weekend! We enjoyed some good food courtesy of my Dad, spent some time at the pool, and Emmet got a lot of attention from his grandparents, aunt and great grandma!

Emmet and Memaw!

View for our sunset golf cart ride! (We got lost and Allison's golf cart started to die, so I had to push them up the hills - it was a fun adventure :)

Starting to look like Froggy

Sweet boy!

Taking a nap with Aunt Allison again - but this time she fell asleep too!

Our good family friends, Dr. Hud and Nancy McWilliams were in town this week. He is a psychologist, counselor, pastor and currently works with families who are planting churches in Europe.

Hud and Nancy are very special to the Dorman family :)

We enjoyed having Dr. Hud pray over Emmet, and he gave some words of advice to Chad and me on Christian parenting. It was extra special because he is the one who baptized me when I was 7!

Pops and Dr. Hud praying for E.

Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates. - Deuteronomy 6:6-9.

Raising a Godly man is going to be an enormous task. We will take all of the prayers and words of wisdom that are sent our way!

Videos of the E-man!

Recent videos that I have been meaning to show! He is getting so big, alert, active and social!! I just L-O-V-E this boy to pieces!

*Now, I know probably not everyone will be as entertained by these videos as Chad and I are - but I know his grandparents will, so I had to share em!"

He entertained himself this way for probably 30-45 minutes!

Emmet's Big Weekend!

Emmet's social calendar is filling up fast! We started this weekend with a baby shower for Krystle and soon-to-debut Natalie!
Next, we all headed out to Cedar Creek Lake for a little Ski N Scats reunion! These are some of my favorite people, so it was very special to have them all meet Emmet!

Then, on Sunday, my mom's sweet friends from school threw her a Sip N See!

Proud Gramy

"Lying on Aunt Allison sure is a great place to take a nap!"

Four generations!

"Mom, I am worn out!"

After all that we went to spend some time with Gramy, Pop, Memaw and Aunt Alli!

Two Months!

Emmet is almost 2 months so we had our doctor's visit today - complete with his first shots. Here is an update on our growing boy!
  • 10 lbs. 12 oz., he has moved on up to the 50th percentile!!
  • 23.5 inches, 90th percentile
  • 16 in head, 75th percentile
  • Took his first shots like a champ - Mommy and Daddy are so proud!
  • Has grown out of his first set of clothes; Mommy needs to pack them up but is in denial. Bye bye newborn clothes - see you next baby, I guess :(
  • Even better head control everyday. Doc said that he is strong for his age!
  • Smiles and coos more and more. He is quite the charmer :)

He has been smiling at us for weeks, but we could NEVER get a picture or a video. Within the last week Andree and Susan have been able to snap a few pics:

And here is a video from this morning:
